While The Skaynngar deals with mostly potty humour, idiotic jokes, and stupid storylines, I want to get real for a second here:
Today is November 11th, Remembrance Day. On this day in 1918, at the 11th Hour, on the 11th Day of the 11th Month, the hostilities of World War I were officially ended.
Today is a day in which many Commonwealth and Non-Commonwealth countries around the world commemorate the sacrifices made by men and women in armed forces around the world.
We honour these people not to glorify war or human suffering, but to remember their lives and all they gave so that the world might one day have peace.
We honour the fallen so that, one day, no more will fall to the violent, hateful machine called war.
We remember because forgetting history and those who died is not only a disservice to them, but also to ourselves.
There will come a day when the last gun is fired, the last peace treaty signed, and the last war ended. It might not be in any of our lifetimes, but that future will come ...
... as long as we remember the past.
